On May 28, political scientist Edgar Elbakyan, specialist of Caucasian studies Karen Igityan, Ph.D., specialist of Turkic studies Varuzhan Geghamyan and Ph.D., internationalist Sergey Melkonyan which are the co-founders of the “Armenian Project” scientific educational NGO, in the framework of their visit to Moscow met with two leading structures engaged in development of the analysis of foreign policy and geopolitics in Russia and applied science: the National Research Institute of the World Economy and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences (ИМЕМО РАН) and the Council of International Affairs of Russia (ICID).
During the seminars held within the framework of the meetings, the main point to discuss was the security situation in the South Caucasus, including topics related to the challenges facing Armenia and broader regional issues, as well as issues related to the current state of Armenian-Russian relations.
The possibilities of cooperation between the “Armenian Project” research structure – the “Armenian Research foundation” and the above-mentioned organizations were also discussed during the visit.
